For those who truly appreciate quality furniture, Mentor TV now features a great selection of handcrafted Amish furniture including TV stands, TV consoles, home theater credenzas, entertainment centers and wall units. Large furniture manufacturers are busy building an empire of "disposable, throw away furniture". Year after year, technology allows them to slice wood veneers thinner and thinner. A couple years of use and it is ready to be thrown into the landfill. Hint: "heirloom quality" furniture is not "Made in China" and certainly does not come "ready to assemble" (usually with a 20-page manual and bags full of miscellaneous parts that takes hours to put together).
